The use of silk in interior design has been a very strong
trend for the last few years. Interior Delights carries
a delicious range of silks from plain, striped, checked
or embroidered Dupioni, to incredibly rich silk jacquards.
When creating draperies with silk, we at Interior Delights
always recommend interlining the silk fabrics, usually
with a high quality wide width cotton flannel. This helps
to protect the precious silk fibres from the harmful rays
of the sun. In caring for Silk, we always recommend dry-cleaning
only. If pressing is required, a low-temperature iron,
with no steam, and a press cloth is recommended.
It is only natural for silks to have some irregularities:
This is the nature of 100% silk fabric. Surface variations
in silk are to be expected and are desirable. Silk, after
all, is a natural fibre, and variations in the weave of
silk fabrics are characteristics of the fabric and are
in no way to be considered defective.
